MASH AWARDS

MASH seeks to recognise and encourage Indian artists, architects, curators and designers via its program of awards, through which it offers grants and prestigious residency opportunities to support the development of their practice and foster the nation's next generation of creative talent.

In collaboration with The Foundation for Contemporary Indian Art (FICA), MASH presents the MASH FICA Award dedicated to supporting New Media Art Practices. The Award will support independent media artists with the creation of specific projects.

We define new media in the most expansive of terms given taking into consideration its perpetually evolving nature. The emphasis remains on projects that explore technology as form, process or subject, and are responsive to the rapidly changing environment of image production and distribution.

The Grant aims to encourage reflective, aesthetic and speculative projects that look at the intersection of art and technology. The project should seek to express a critical understanding of technology as process, beyond the industrial frameworks within which it gets deployed.

The winning proposal will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges. The recipient of the grant will receive a maximum of Rs. 4,00,000 for the project detailed in their application. The period of the grant is one year (1 January – 31 December 2019). Deadline for applications is 1 November 2018.
