MASH Ball 2025 | In Support Of UNICEF India
In a celebration of artistic expression and humanitarian spirit, we proudly present the second edition of MASH Ball in support of UNICEF India.
Conceptualised and organised by our founder, Ms. Shalini Passi, this grand charity ball brings people together to stand for children, the most vulnerable members of our global community. This impactful initiative inspires individuals to use their influence, resources, and passion to effect positive change in the lives of children, fostering a world where their rights are protected and their futures secure.
Through her philanthropic work, Shalini Passi is committed to advocating for children’s rights, amplifying their voices, and raising awareness on the issues that impact them most. Proceeds from the MASH Ball will support UNICEF’s Art-Based Therapy (ABT) and Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes, both of which are championed by Shalini Passi.
UNICEF’s Art-Based Therapy programme offers children a powerful form of support and empowerment. By harnessing creative expression, it provides a therapeutic outlet for healing, communication, and emotional well-being, especially in times of trauma or distress. This approach acknowledges the profound role of art in helping children navigate complex emotions, manage psychological stress, and regain a sense of balance in today’s increasingly turbulent world.
Recognising that a child’s potential begins to develop from the earliest years, the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme focuses on these critical formative stages– the first 1000 days of life. The programme builds on the government priorities to promote growth and development in children during the years when it matters the most.
UNICEF’s work is further strengthened by the involvement of influencers, public figures, community leaders and child right advocates. Their support amplifies efforts for every child and helps in providing access to essential services: quality education, clean water, and protection.
This extraordinary event merges the worlds of art and philanthropy, creating a unique platform where creativity becomes a force for change. It promises to be an evening unlike any other; where each brushstroke and every canvas becomes a symbol of hope, shaping a brighter, more equitable future for children.

Art & Design Curated by Shalini Passi
MASH Ball 2025, in support of UNICEF India showcased artists – Raghava KK, F N Souza, Vibha Galhotra, Valay Shende, Ann Carrington, Ashiesh Shah, Michelle Poonawalla, Ryan Koopmans, Narayan Biswas, and Rocco Ritchie
1) F N Souza, Untitled, Oil on Board, Dhoomimal Gallery
Part of a series of many important works that Souza created throughout his lifetime was the ‘Head’, the work transforms the human face into a mask-like symbol of frailty and survival. Influenced by icons, Cubism, and Expressionism, Souza distorts features with bold outlines, raw brushwork, and a striking palette of reds, greens, and blacks. The result is both sacred and grotesque — a powerful image that critiques society while exposing the intensity of the human condition.

2) Raghava KK, La liberté de Guernica, Acrylic on canvas, Volte Art Project
The Guernica Project is a ground-breaking body of work by Indian artist and storyteller, Raghava KK. Born out of multiple encounters with Pablo Picasso’s original 1937 painting, Guernica, over the course of ten years, the project has since expanded into a wide range of work in various mediums.
At its heart The Guernica Project playfully retells history through cartoon characters and memes. Harnessing the historical and the über-contemporary, Raghava tells a captivating story that rejects binary classifications, such as the oppositional forces of conflict and harmony.
The work’s narrative is fluidly assembled through the disparate references it melds together: coming together as a dance between Picasso, Raghava, Guernica, and the audience. This is done in stark rejection of a nihilistic post modern that strips the image of its meaning.
The cornerstone of Volte Art Projects’ presentation of The Guernica Project is Raghava’s 2021 work, entitled Guernica for the Siri-ocene. The monumental 3.5 x 8 meter long painting invites spectators to immerse themselves in the world that it creates.
A constantly growing series, The Guernica Project comprises paintings, digital prints, and a large selection of NFTs. Embracing the phygital, Volte presents a selection of printed NFTs, each inspired by characters in Raghava’s Guernica.

3) Rocco Ritchie, Self-Portrait Before, Oil stick on canvas, Art be a part
Placed alongside a mirror, Rocco’s self-portrait confronts us with a double question:Do you see me? Do you see you? It blurs the lines between artist and viewer, urgingus to look beyond the canvas and into ourselves, reminding us that art is not onlyabout what is seen but also about what is revealed within.

4) Vibha Galhotra, The Final Feast, (Staged Photographs) 2021 Digital Compilation of Staged photo work, Nature Morte
The work is a satire on the strange times we live in, where dreams of interplanetary life are reserved only for those who can afford it, leaving the rest of us behind on a wounded, contaminated Earth.

5) Michelle Poonawalla, Whispers of The Deep, Aqua Vitae, Mystical Flight, mixed media on Canvas
Whispers of the Deep symbolizes the hidden voices and mysteries that lie beneath the surface whether in oceans, the subconscious mind, or the unseen layers of existence. The “deep” represents depth of thought, emotions, and the natural world, while the “whispers” suggest subtle messages, intuition, and unspoken truths. The piece seeks to capture the calm yet powerful essence of what is often overlooked, reminding us that silence, shadows, and depth all carry stories waiting to be heard.
Aqua Vitae, Literally meaning “Water of Life”, this artwork reflects the eternal bond between water and existence. It symbolizes purity, renewal, and the vital force that sustains all living beings. Flowing yet powerful, gentle yet essential, water becomes both a metaphor for life’s resilience and a reminder of its fragility. The piece aims to evoke reverence for this primal element, urging us to see water not just as a resource, but as the very essence of survival and spirit.
Mystical Flight explores the idea of transcending boundaries of body, mind, and spirit—through a journey that is both ethereal and liberating. The “flight” represents freedom, imagination, and transformation, while “mystical” evokes wonder, magic, and the unseen forces that guide us. Together, they symbolize a passage into realms beyond the ordinary, where dreams take wing and the soul soars toward higher dimensions.

6) Narayan Biswas, Panch, steel, Palette Art Gallery
This five-part work rises like a vertical edifice, echoing the form of a five-storey building. Each tier functions as a chamber of memory and imagination, layered with lived experiences and inherited stories. Beyond its architectural presence, the structure asserts itself as a powerhouse, a totemic symbol of vitality that recalls the figure of the village head, an enduring anchor and source of collective strength.
Transcending form, the work embodies authority and resilience, carrying the rhythms of community life while affirming continuity. As both monument and metaphor, it reflects on tradition, memory, and the layered pulse of collective existence.

meaning. From the Silver Patra and Copper Stambh to the celestial Moonshadow and Multiball Stambh, the Kala Ghoda, Swayam Mirror, Kumbh Panel, and Dhoop tables—each piece embodies heritage, ritual, and poetic functionality, narrating evolving aesthetics alive with spirit.

8) Ryan Koopmans, The Wild Within, (Realms, Symphony, Everlasting, The Wild Within Genesis)
The Wild Within is a series of artworks that bring new life into abandoned buildings from a bygone era. Based on real-world physical spaces, an animated rebirth into a digital realm is created. Over the course of several years, Ryan Koopmans and his partner, Alice Wexell, travel to unique sites around the globe, exploring ruins and photographing architecture in dramatic states of transition.
Back in the studio, they digitally sculpt vegetation, refine the architectural images, and bring motion to the scenes with the intention of reviving the empty spaces, essentially bringing life back into the rooms.
The results are a surreal collision between the past and future, natural and manmade, physical and digital, and the real and imaginary. The aim of the artwork is to create a sense of surreal tranquility whilst referencing the themes of architectural history and its intricate relationship with the natural world. Many of the buildings depicted in The Wild Within have been demolished in recent years, underscoring the series’ meditation on the passage of time, growth, and decay. The project’s first release, focused on the Georgian town of Tskaltubo, debuted on 24 March 2021. This began the genesis chapter of a project that has been widely celebrated, exhibited and acquired by some of the World’s premier collectors and institutions of digital art.

9) Valay Shinde, Horse, Coated Stainless Steel Discs, Tara Art Gallery
Valay Shende’s sculptures and installations offer a poignant commentary on contemporary urban society, delving into the complexities of modern life, globalization, and economic disparities. Through his innovative use of materials like metal discs, pocket watches, and copper-plated fiberglass, Shende crafts powerful metaphors that challenge viewers to reflect on the world around them.

9) Ann Carington, Kousa, Keserwan, Silver, nickel and steel plated cutlery, Tara Art Gallery
The use of discarded, found and multiples of objects is a fundamental element of Carrington’s practice. All objects are saturated with cultural meaning, which, as an artist she seeks to explore, unravel and investigate. Mundane objects like knives and forks, barbed wire, pins and paintbrushes come with their own ready-made histories and associations which can be unravelled and analysed if rearranged, distorted or realigned to give them new meaning as sculpture. Materials are merged with form to tell a story through objects which are familiar to us all.
